## 1. Purpose and scope

This Cookie Policy aims to provide clear and precise information about the use of cookies and similar technologies on the website [kelp.work](https://kelp.work) (hereinafter, the "Website"), in accordance with:

Kelp Labs, S.L. is responsible for the use of cookies on this Website and ensures that information is collected and processed in line with the principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency set out in Article 5 of the GDPR.

## 2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites install on the user's device (computer, mobile phone, tablet, etc.) when the user visits them.

They are used to recognise the user's device, remember their preferences or collect statistical information about browsing.

Cookies do not harm the device and improve the browsing experience by remembering settings such as language or login credentials.

In accordance with the AEPD Guide (July 2023), cookies are classified by purpose as:

- **Technical or necessary cookies:** they enable browsing and the use of the website's various options or services.

- **Personalisation cookies:** they allow access to the service with predefined features (language, region, browser type).

- **Analytics cookies:** they make it possible to count the number of users and analyse their behaviour on the website.

Following an audit of the Website, the only cookie identified in use is a technical cookie called **NEXT_LOCALE** , whose purpose is to remember the language selected by the user so that content is displayed correctly.

The use of technical and personalisation cookies, such as NEXT_LOCALE, is based on the legitimate interest of the controller in ensuring the functionality and accessibility of the Website (Article 6.1(f) of the GDPR).

Nevertheless, the user will be informed of their existence at all times through a visible notice accessible from any page of the Website.

As the cookie used is exempt from consent, Kelp Labs does not display an accept or reject banner.

However, under the principle of transparency (Articles 12 and 13 of the GDPR), the Cookie Policy is available at all times through a permanent link in the footer of the Website.

Should non-exempt cookies (analytics or third-party) be added in the future, Kelp Labs will update this policy and display a consent banner in line with the Guide on the use of cookies (AEPD, July 2023) and EDPB Guidelines 05/2020 on consent.
